IAHPC Hospice Palliative Care News Digest, June 2022

Orquidea Tamayo Mortera of New Zealand submitted this photo of her 102-year-old Mexican great-grandmother, Elvira, with great-grandson Itzae, to last year’s IAHPC Photo Contest. Though Elvira was at the end of life and living with severe dementia, “she became alive when the baby was put in her arms. As a good native Mexican she put the baby on her back, as that is the way she used to carry her own babies.” Photo used with permission.
